Your assignment while I'm gone (1/7/20-1/10/20) is to work on this using your textbook in class. Bring your book and you can work in pairs if you want or you can work alone, but each student is responsible for their own unique (no copying) worksheet. Click below for the worksheet:
Four-page (two pieces of paper front and back or four single-sided) minimum (typed 12 point font Times New Roman, 1.5 line spacing) response to the following:
1) Who are you today while including all parts below?
2) What are your greatest strengths/traits from the following areas? Discuss how they empower you.
3) What are your greatest weaknesses/traits from the following areas? Discuss how they weaken you.
4) Who do you want to be in the future?
All presentations will be graded based on additional aspects such as clarity, media choice, the degree to which the folk cultural groups are sufficiently summarized and the degree to which each Part's requirements are addressed. Due Wednesday:

Premise: You have been tasked with creating a poster (paper-sized or bigger) in support of an existing law in the USA.
These laws must be school-appropriate topics, and must be "PG" so to speak. All laws must be vetted by me and no two students can pick the same law. Once you find one, sign up with me, and then you can begin work. Create original constructive, positive and empowering memes or meme-like creations for the following concepts:
Highlighting challenges and struggles, emotional or distressing issues for a meme in a satirical fashion should be clearly constructive regardless of humor or meme format. No meme should deal with inherently controversial issues such as guns, sex, violence, stereotypes of specific groups, religions, minorities and ethnic or racial groups, nor be about drug use. No meme should target specific students or teachers, races, religions, or genders nor should they be purely made for mocking or ridiculing an issue or group of people. |
